Pacific Sea Kelp is fantastical. Let us guide you through the depths of the Pacific Ocean to a place where sunlight reaches a shimmering forest of undersea vegetables.
Kelp transforms food with its umami (“ooh-mommy!”), savory flavour. Check any preconceived notions at the door.
Kelp is a dietary power house packed with an abundance of micronutrients.
It’s key to life.
Kelp produces 70-80% of the Earth’s oxygen.
It’s good for the earth.
Kelp sequesters carbon and prevents it from being released into the atmosphere.
Grow. Harvest. Eat. Repeat.
Pacific Sea Kelp.
Good for you.
Good for the Environment.
It’s Harvest Season!
Countdown until we seed the farm
ORGANICOur food and agricultural products are inherently organic and will never require fresh water, fertilizers, pesticides or competing crop land to grow.
EARTH FRIENDLYCultivating kelp reforests kelp beds, provides a habitat for marine life, acts to bio-extract CO2 from the atmosphere and produces oxygen at a rate akin to any terrestrial rainforest.
COMMUNITY ORIENTEDOur harvests will be used to further local research, develop local foods, explore agricultural products and restore habitat for marine life. Our community of those looking to #getkelp, is growing.
HEART HEALTHYKelp and seaweeds are packed with antioxidants, essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements including iodine. Most species are low in sodium (it’s true!) while boasting healthier potassium salts with a briny ‘je ne sais quoi’ taste.
SUSTAINABLEPacific Sea Kelp naturally remediates, restores and supports a biodiverse marine habitat. We intend to leave plants at our farms to promote the site as a food source and nursery for local salmonid and herring. We are committed to sustainable aquaculture practices.
TRANSPARENTThe health of a marine ecosystem is intertwined with the health of its aquatic plant life and we are researching our kelp to better understand this relationship. We aim to identify robust and resilient species with which to reseed local kelp beds so that our submarine forests survive environmental fluctuations. All food and agricultural products will be traced back to the body of water in which the plants were grown.
